Annual Oktoberfest returns to Downtown Prescott
Ready for beer, bratwurst, and sauerkraut? The Annual Oktoberfest returns to downtown Prescott this Saturday, September 26th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Gurley Street. The fun filled Oktoberfest event is held in front of the Prescott Brewing Company because they were Prescott’s first microbrewer.
This year’s Oktoberfest will have fifty beers which include beers from the Prescott Brewing Company and Granite Mountain Brewing, with Trader Joe’s providing the four different wines. This year will also see expanded food offerings including brats by Rock n’ Dog and also pizza and pretzels by Papa Johns, Safari Samosas, lemonade, kettle corn and soft drinks. Only for adults 21 and over, attendees will get 10 samples for $20.
The Oktoberfest event will help raise funds for the Sister City Associates of Prescott student exchange program. The sister city organization is a volunteer group of Prescott residents who, with the support of their local elected officials, form long-term relationships with people and organizations in a city abroad. Sister city organizations promote peace through people-to-people relationships—with program offerings varying greatly from basic cultural exchange programs to shared research and development projects between cities with relationships. Event Organizer, Steve Gottlieb, hopes to raise between $5,000 and $10,000 for the organization. For more information, visit http://www.visit-prescott.com/events-in-prescott-arizona.
